Step 1: Vocal Cleaning – Think of vocal cleaning as cooking with dirty utensils and eating off a dirty plate of food. Just like it’s unhealthy to consume food from a dirty plate, neglecting to clean your vocals can have a detrimental effect on your overall sound also distracting the fanbase from the experience.
Step 2: Vocal Control – Picture preparing a meal without any consideration of the amount of seasoning that you put. The result? An uneatable plate that you prepared for your fanbase that has to much herbs and spices or a bland plate that you can’t fix after the meal is already prepared.
Step 3: Vocal Character – Your vocal character is you questioning your fanbase on how they would like to have their steak cooked. Do they want it rare, med rare, or well done? If you make your vocal character with the wrong temperature and then you serve it to your fanbase, your vocals will be understood as lacking the desired finesse.
Step 4: Vocal Processing – This is the step that most people are offering vocal presets that have flood the market. While they may make your mix sound good to untrained ears, trained ears can distinguish a mix that sounds detached from the beat, on top of the beat, or mixing into the beat and isn’t taking nothing away from the beats performance. The lack of life and deadness of your vocal production that makes your vocal performance unremarkable will fail to captivate the listener.
Step 5: Vocal Throws – Think of this as your food is already finished and now what you have to do is place the food on the dish in a manner that impresses the fanbase on the design.
Step 6: Vocal Aux – You have the meal on the plate, it looks fantastic, your hungry so you want to eat the plate yourself, and you are getting ready to place your very well cooked, designed, and delicious cooked mean to your fanbase.
Step 7: Vocal VCA – This step is bring your plate to your audience and having them experience what it is like to eat from your business.
